The investigation of a robbery reported by Jerry Witworth Crosby Jr. on April 5th has been completed with his arrest for filing a false report by Bradley County Sheriff’s detectives.

Crosby reported he was robbed at knifepoint by a man who hid in his van while he was getting gas at an APD 40 convenience store. He said the suspect took $600 from his wallet and got out of the vehicle on Dalton Pike.

Investigation by the criminal investigations division indicated the incident did not happen as Crosby described and during an interview he admitted to making the story up.

The Bradley County Grand Jury charged Crosby with filing a false report. He was arrested on April 7th and is free on a $5,000 bond.
