Heath Arthur and deputies Phillip Reagan, Shaun McKee and Travis Greene received awards for their response to a traffic accident on Keith Valley Road on May 17, 2009. Arriving on the scene, the deputies found a vehicle off the road resting upside down in a small creek. They observed flames spreading quickly from the engine toward the passenger compartment where the elderly driver lay trapped in the wreckage. Assessing the situation the deputies realized the woman could die in the fire if they didn't get her out of the vehicle. Disregarding their own safety, they were able to get the woman out as medical help arrived on the scene. The woman was taken to a burn unit in Nashville but died of her injuries several hours later.
