An investigation by two divisions of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office identified an Oregon sex offender who had not registered here as Tennessee law requires.

Claude Edward Brackett, 51, of southeast Fourth Street, was arrested Friday for violating a provision of the law requiring sex offenders from other states to register if they live, work, or attend school in Tennessee.

Det. Laura Lane, who conducts registrations for the BCSO, put Brackett on the registry as a violent offender based on the age of the Oregon victim.

Brackett has been released after posting a $5,000 bond.
