Bradley County Sheriff’s detectives made an arrest in a home invasion Sunday on Ellis Drive where the victim was temporarily blinded by mace.

David Elijah Catron, 24, of Springplace Road, was arrested within hours of the incident.

The victim reported to patrol deputies that she was asleep in the living room when a noise at the door startled her. As she turned to investigate she felt someone grab her neck and mace was sprayed in her face.

The woman’s purse, medicine and cash were taken.

During the investigation the victim stated Catron had been at her home the day before inquiring about her medications.  After questioning at the Judicial Center, he was charged with theft under $500, theft over $1,000, aggravated assault, and especially aggravated burglary.  Bond has been set at $30,000 and Catron is being held at the Bradley County jail.

Detectives recovered the victim’s purse and some of its contents.
