The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office saved approximately $60,000 in budgeted funds this year and returned it to the General Fund. This savings is good news for taxpayers and demonstrates our efficiency in operations and good stewardship of public funds.
Since becoming sheriff, through better management of allotted resources, the BCSO has returned approximately $660,000 in budgeted savings to the taxpayers. This amount is on top of the $4.2 million in revenue we bring into the County each year through our on-going operations. This $4.2 million off-sets our yearly $12 million budget by one-third. This makes the BCSO, as noted by several national experts, one of the most effective and efficient sheriff’s offices in the nation.
This good financial stewardship, combined with our excellent crime fighting record of achieving one of the highest crime clearance rates in Bradley County history and reducing overall criminal offenses by 6 percent last year is something our community can point to with pride.
In addition, the Bradley County Jail continues to receive excellent inspection reports from the Tennessee Corrections Institute with special recognition for the overall orderliness and cleanliness of our facility.
Our state financial audits confirm our budgets, including the Drug Fund, have been managed well and spent for appropriate and lawful purposes.
I am proud to serve as sheriff of Bradley County and I am proud of the men and women who comprise the BCSO and make these accomplishments possible. Thanks to all law-abiding Bradley County citizens who support us each and everyday. Remember, we are here to support you and “when we say protect and serve ~ we mean it!”
