Bradley County Sheriff Tim Gobble reports that 35 warrants and indictments handed down by the Bradley County Grand Jury has resulted in 22 arrests for illegal drug activity in and around the county. The suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday, June 16, with another 13 arrests pending.

The drug round-up was the culmination of a coordinated, six-month investigation by the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division (CID), the BCSO Drug Unit and the BCSO Patrol Division. The remaining 13 warrants are still being served and suspects who were not apprehended in Tuesday’s round-up will be picked up over the next few days. Some suspects are already in jail in other areas and will answer for charges in Bradley County upon their release elsewhere.

Capt. Steve Lawson, who heads up CID, was pleased with the results of the drug round up.

“I appreciate the good work of the drug unit, patrol deputies and the entire CID,” he said. “I believe the teamwork, smoothness and success of this operation should make drug dealers and others who traffic in drugs aware that if they continue to engage in illegal activity, we will deal with them in a decisive manner.”

Sheriff Gobble was also pleased with the arrests, saying, “This is another example of our commitment to keeping our streets and neighborhoods drug-free. I commend the BCSO Criminal Investigation Division, our drug unit and our patrol deputies for their efforts. We will continue working hard to keep our community safe and free from illegal drugs.”

Of the 22 suspects arrested, 16 were booked into the Bradley County Justice Center. They are:
