The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office responded several deputies to Springplace Road Thursday afternoon after a 9-1-1 call of a domestic assault in progress.

BCSO personnel arrived minutes after the call to 3250 Springplace Road and found there was no domestic assault but instead an aggravated burglary and robbery had occurred.

The investigation revealed Kristy Danyell Crawley and Gary Neal Norman went to a neighbor’s residence to steal her purse. Crawley went inside while Norman distracted Cruztis Vargas Gonzales at the door.

When Crawley attempted to leave with the purse Gonzales confronted her and the two struggled. At that time Richard Joe Crawley Jr. came out of the other residence and struck Gonzales in an attempt to gain control of the purse.

Sheriff Tim Gobble said patrol deputies arrived within minutes after receiving the call and are to be commended for their quick response and assessment of the situation. "This shows that putting more deputies out on the street we are able to respond more quickly to solve crime and protect people."

All three suspects were arrested.

Kristy Danyell Crawley, 31, of 3250 Springplace Rd., is charged with aggravated burglary, criminal conspiracy and robbery.

Richard Joe Crawley Jr., 30, of Loudon Tennessee, is charged with aggravated burglary, criminal conspiracy, robbery, and criminal impersonation. In addition, he is charged with failure to register in Bradley County as a sex offender.

Gary Neal Norman, 36, of 3250 Springplace Rd., is charged with aggravated burglary and criminal conspiracy.

Norman and Kristy Crawley are being held in the Bradley County jail following an initial appearance in General Sessions Court this morning where each had bond set at $30,000. Richard Crawley’s bond was set at $50,000 and he is being held for Loudon County authorities. All three are due back in court on February 19th.
