At approximately 11:28 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call at 1090 Pea Street to investigate a home invasion robbery.

Edward Venney and Victoria Russell, residents at that location, reported three males in their early 20’s forced their way into the residence when Venney answered a knock on the door.

An altercation ensued during which Russell was able to escape out a rear door and Venney through the front door of the residence. During the altercation one of the suspects swung a baseball bat at Venney but instead struck one of the other suspects in the head.
