This year the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office has identified 34 incarcerated individuals as illegal aliens and turned them over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for deportation. And today three more illegal aliens were turned over to ICE. Sheriff Tim Gobble said he expects the number of illegal aliens identified and turned over to ICE for deportation will accelerate and increase as a result of joining the Criminal Alien Program (CAP). Sheriff Gobble said he is still interested in the federal 287g program which will allow us an even greater ability to identify illegal aliens and deal with the illegal alien problem. Sheriff Gobble reiterated his support for legal immigration but stated illegal immigration must be addressed and it is primarily the federal government’s responsibility to do so. It is his hope that ICE will be responsive to all BCSO requests regarding immigration matters. Read more about the Criminal Alien Program below under BCSO partners with ICE
