The Bradley County Tennessee Sheriff’s Office entered into a comprehensive mobile data terminal project in 1998. The program involves the installation, licensing and monthly support for 58 in car wireless units. This project, through the use of grants funds allow our officers to file paperless reports to supervisors for approval. Reports are eventually entered into the Tennessee’s Incident Based Reporting System in accordance with state regulations with most of the process completed wirelessly though an infrastructure of transmitters, global positioning modules and radio modems built with LLEBG funds. An MDT Unit in Use We were the first smaller agency in Tennessee to complete an MDT program and contribute our success to the annual LLEBG funds, which have been dedicated each year over the life of the program. The Grant is scheduled to go before the Bradley County Commission on August 4, 2008 for review and acceptance. Comments or questions may be e-mailed to jliner@bradleyco.net during the open public comment period of July 18, 2008 through August 4, 2008.
