In a joint announcement, the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and the Cleveland Police Department are giving local residents a chance to collect a reward if they can provide information that will help solve recent business burglaries in the city and county. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered by the two agencies for information that leads to the identification of a suspect or suspects in the crimes. Sheriff Tim Gobble approved a reward of up to $1,000 and the Cleveland Police Department has agreed to match that amount. Capt. Steve Lawson of the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division said the exact amount paid would be determined by the value of the provided information solving the series of burglaries where losses have been substantial. Most of the burglaries have been inside the city of Cleveland but at least one last weekend was outside the city limits. The two agencies have ongoing investigations and are working together to solve the crimes. Cleveland Police Lt. Robert Harbison said callers can leave information about the crimes with either agency. BCSO’s Crime Tip Hotline is 728-7336 and is available 24 hours a day. The Cleveland Police Department’s CID number is 559-3396, and it also has voice mail for after-hours access. Lawson said, "I know there is someone out there that knows who committed these burglaries. It is my hope they will take the time to call so they can collect this reward."
