At 7:22 a.m. today a 9-1-1 call was received by the Communications Center that a 14-year-old boy had lost consciousness at a residence on Springplace Road near the state line.

Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies and the Emergency Medical Service responded and found the boy unconscious. Attempts were made to revive the victim but were unsuccessful.     Image

A preliminary investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of BCSO revealed two youths, ages 14 and 15, had spent the night together and both ingested a prescription medication that was dispensed by a physician to another person.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to Skyridge Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to recover.

The deceased is identified as Jonathan Tucker of 7929 Springplace Road. The investigation will continue.
