Two Facing Charges from Lawnmower Thefts in Polk County

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office took two men into custody on Monday after a resident of Polk County observed the pair driving off with three of her lawnmowers in the back of a pickup truck.

The registration on the vehicle led deputies to a residence on Trewhitt Road.  The suspects were found at that location but they drove away before they were questioned about the theft. Deputy Travis Smith conducted a traffic stop at Trewhitt Road and Rodney Drive and received

their cooperation in locating the missing lawnmowers.

Joseph Andrew Cole, 25, of 3298 Trewhitt Road, and Ricky A. Ellison, 42, of 319 Clay Baker Road, were taken into custody without incident.  Both have been charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $500, and there may be additional charges filed in Polk County.   

The three mowers were taken from 773 Browder Road in Polk County and were recovered from a location on Howard Road in Bradley County. They are valued at $625.
