A Detroit man who was sought by both Michigan state authorities and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration was taken into custody on Monday in Bradley County. Jonathan Lamar Fisher, 35, was considered dangerous, according to the DEA’s Most Wanted Fugitive list that appears on the agency’s web site. Federal authorities have been looking for Fisher for the past two years. Detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fisher without incident at a traffic stop on I-75. He was driving a 2003 BMW SUV that was pulled over for a traffic violation near the 29-mile marker. . Upon contact with the driver, the detective noticed the odor of marijuana. After receiving permission to conduct a search of the vehicle, two jars that contained marijuana were found inside a console in the center of the front seat. The vehicle and $2,288 were seized. Fisher initially presented a Tennessee driver’s license but through additional investigation his correct identity was determined. He was taken into custody and is charged with possession of schedule six drugs for resale and following too close. Charges in Michigan include conspiracy to distribute heroin and a felon in possession of a firearm. The DEA has been looking for Fisher for two years. He is being held in the county jail for federal authorities.
