A jury took a little over two hours Wednesday to bring its verdict in the trial of Scotty Lee Myers.

Myers’ was charged with first-degree murder following the May 2007 death of Pamela Jo Lane.

Circuit Court Judge Carroll Ross presided over jury selection Tuesday morning and the case concluded late Wednesday afternoon when he charged the jury.

They returned about two hours later after finding Myers guilty of second-degree murder.

Myers was arrested in Panama City Florida on June 1st, the day Lane’s body was found in a shallow grave at the edge of Price Cemetery on Pleasant Grove Road. The gruesome discovery came during an investigation by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office into Lane’s disappearance. Family members reported their last contact with her was on May 4th.
