A man wanted for stealing a woman’s wallet and her credit card from an office at Cleveland State Community College is currently jailed in Sullivan County Tennessee. Detective Kevin White of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office said his investigation revealed the same person stole a credit card in December from a vehicle at Prospect Church of God, four months after the Cleveland State theft. Surveillance video of a purchase at the Athens WalMart using the card in the latter theft led White to Jackie James Dodd. Warrants for Dodd were issued through Bradley County General Sessions Court for fraudulent use of a credit card, theft, and burglary of an automobile. A "hold" has been placed pending his release in Sullivan County. Both victims have been notified of unauthorized charges in excess of a thousand dollars to their accounts. During the investigation White assisted Chattanooga police identifying Dodd in a surveillance photo they obtained during investigation of a similar theft at Memorial Hospital. Dodd has similar charges for credit card purchases in Sullivan County. The investigation found no connection to the college as a student or employee. Dodd, who is 48 and has a residence in Madisonville, is reportedly being investigated by at least two other law enforcement agencies in southeast Tennessee.
