An investigation Monday by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of Anthony William Jarrell for the rape of a 12-year-old girl.

Patrol deputies were sent to Skyridge Medical Center where the victim was being treated in the emergency room. Detective Jimmy Smith of the Criminal Investigations Division was contacted, and his investigation revealed the victim had been sexually assaulted over the last 2 to 3 weeks. After Jarrell was interviewed he was charged with four counts of rape of a child.

The Department of Children’s Services and the Child Advocacy Center are assisting in the investigation.

Jarrell, who is 18 years old, is currently being held in the county jail with his bond set at $25,000. He is to appear for a hearing on Monday in General Sessions Court.
