Laney, one of Bradley County’s Most Wanted, arrested crossing Mexican border
Bradley County sheriff’s officials were recently notified by U.S. Customs agents that Patricia Laney has been arrested while attempting to enter the United States from Mexico under an assumed name. Laney, who was being sought on federal warrants for narcotics violations, was added to Bradley County’s Ten Most Wanted list last month. She was arrested at a border crossing in Brownsville Texas. Bradley County Sheriff’s Detective Carl Maskew recently learned Laney has been living in Mexico for the past seven months under an assumed name. That name had been “red-flagged” in the computer system used by border crossing agents so when she attempted to re-enter the country customs agents were immediately aware of the charges against her. The 25-year-old resident of Dalton Georgia is six months pregnant and is currently being processed in Brownsville before the U.S. Marshall’s Service returns her to Tennessee. Agent Jason Ladd in Chattanooga was heavily involved in the search for Laney. Laney is accused of transporting half-a-pound of methamphetamine from Dalton Georgia to Bradley County Tennessee.
