Borrowed vehicle leads deputies to burglary suspect

A suspect in a burglary on Withrow Road was taken into custody Tuesday evening while Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies were conducting their investigation.

Ben Brackett reported the headboard of a bed and a strong box were missing when he returned to his residence around 7 p.m.  He called the sheriff’s office and during an investigation deputies found pieces of newspaper and mail in Brackett’s yard and strewn along Withrow Road.

After deputies questioned the individual named on the parcels, it was determined he had loaned a vehicle to Clay W. Eads.  Eads, 41, of Weatherford Road, was charged with aggravated burglary, theft under $500, and vandalism.
