Investigation by property crimes detectives for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest this week of a man for home burglaries occurring since early December.  Christopher Phillips The case, ongoing for over a month, took a turn this week when detectives discovered a Nintendo gaming system and associated games sold to a business on Treasury Drive matched the serial number of a system stolen from Willbrook Circle. An examination of records pertaining to the sale identified 33-year-old Timothy Phillips as the person in possession of the stolen property when it was sold.
Subsequent investigation resulted in consent to search Phillips residence on South Lee Highway. There detectives found property from that burglary and three others. Phillips is charged with two counts each of aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000. Detectives have been able to clear these burglaries: - 200 block of Turning Leaf Trail on Dec. 7·
- 900 block of Tri Circle on Dec. 21·
- 200 block of Pebble Ridge Drive on Dec. 30·
- 100 block of Willbrook Circle on Jan.9
Several thousand dollars of stolen property, including a handgun, medications, jewelry, cell phones, computers and other electronics were recovered from Phillips’ residence. Property that was identified through theft reports has been returned to owners. Detectives also found property they are still trying to determine ownership.
