Bradley County Sheriff's deputies responded to an aggravated domestic assault Monday night at 314 Peachtree Circle.
Two 9-1-1 calls were placed from the residence shortly after 8 o'clock. The first caller indicated a male was threatening a female with a knife, and the second call reported a gunshot was heard from inside the residence. Arriving on the scene, deputies found Danny J.Catlett, 36, in an upstairs room with a gunshot wound to the upper right shoulder area. Also at the residence was Gayla Catlett, 44, who had several knife cuts to her clothing. Based on the investigation, it appears that the couple had been arguing when Danny Catlett threatened his wife with a knife. She retrieved a handgun and fired once, hitting him in the shoulder. Danny Catlett was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center with apparently non life-threatening injuries. Detectives took statements from witnesses and collected evidence. The investigation is continuing. No charges have been filed at the present time. |
