A drugs and weapons case investigated by Bradley County Sheriff’s Detective Carl Maskew came to a conclusion recently when Jarrel Hickey was sentenced in federal court. Hickey received a total sentence of 135 months, the equivalent of just over 11 years, plus six years of supervised probation to follow his release from prison.
Det. Maskew is Bradley County’s law enforcement liaison with the federal judicial system for prosecution of gun-related crimes under Project Safe Neighborhoods. Since the partnership began several years ago, a number of career criminals have received lengthy prison sentences, some without the chance of parole. Det. Maskew assists in the preparation of cases originating in Bradley County, which includes the Cleveland Police Department. |
