North Lee Highway Fatal Crash Victim Identified The man who died of injuries from a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in the 7400 block of North Lee Highway has been identified as Kevin L. Byrwa, 26, of Etowah. Byrwa was traveling south when he crossed into the opposite lane and collided with two other vehicles. The drivers of those vehicles were injured. Sandra Overs, 51, of Athens, was transported by the emergency medical service to a hospital in Athens. Terry D. Hickman, 59, of Cleveland, was brought to Skyridge Medical Center for treatment and was later transferred to Erlanger Medical Center. Investigation into the crash is continuing by the Traffic Unit of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

Driver Involved in Pursuit on I-75 Faces New Charge of Possessing Stolen Property
A new charge of possessing stolen property was filed Wednesday for Julian D J Taylor after he lead officers on a pursuit on I-75. Investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Unit traced the vehicle to a dealership in suburban Atlanta. When contacted Wednesday, the Smyrna business had not noticed the 2013 Cadillac, which they valued at $44,985, was missing. They filed a theft report with Smyrna police. At that time detectives for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office filed a charge of possessing stolen property in excess of $10,000 in General Sessions Court. Taylor, 23, of University Park Illinois, was previously charged with resisting arrest, misuse of plates, evading, and reckless endangerment. He led Bradley County and other officers on a pursuit Tuesday along I-75 after a detective noticed the tag was registered to another make of vehicle. He later wrecked near the Hiwassee River bridge. Today Taylor remains in the Bradley County jail. Julian DJ Taylor
